“There’s Nothing In The Middle Of The Road, But Yellow Lines And Dead Skunks”
“What is curriculum suppose to look like?” “Is this good enough?” “What do ‘they’ want?” We all know it is ‘not OK to just be OK’ and to ‘just get through the process’. Just ‘OK’ admits an acceptance of mediocrity and that just isn’t good enough. We have modified Jim Hightower’s shared quote from a Texas rancher: “There’s nothing in the middle of the road, but yellow stripes and dead armadillos” to emphasize that in the middle there are caution signs that warn us about how just staying ‘average’ can be damaging and will likely end up ‘stinking’!

Hotel Reservations: Conference participants are responsible for making their own reservations by calling Inn at the Grand Glaize at 1-800-348-4731. Ask for the SMCAA Spring Conference rate of $69.00 per night. Reservation deadline is March 19th to receive the contracted conference rate.

Cancellation deadline is April 1, 2010 to receive a full refund. The following administration fee applies to cancellations received between
April 2 – April 13th :
$65 per individual per day from SMCAA member districts
$95 per individual per day from SMCAA non-member districts
