As Shaun Bates, DESE Science Consultant, stated at the SMCAA Fall Conference, the department will be seeking input on the new Science Standards. Those Standards are scheduled to be release around February 20th. The SMCAA February Regional meetings will focus on some of the main features of the new standards. Participants will be given the opportunity to submit input at the meetings and collect information to share with their science staffs to encourage their input.
Shaun wants to collect as much input as possible so that the concerns of Missouri’s science educators can be shared when he meets on the national level concerning changes that may need to be considered.
