Changes at DESE

 As many of you may have heard by now, this Thursday, September 30, will mark the last day of service for three individuals who have served as mentors and leaders for Missouri schools for several years. Their dedication to ‘putting students first’ has not gone unnoticed. Under their leadership, we have seen many improvements and have appreciated the comfort of knowing that they constantly sought to guide us toward doing the ‘right things in the right way’ to help Missouri students achieve at higher levels.

SMCAA wishes to publically say “Thank You” to:

Ginny Vandelicht Director of School Improvement Support

Michael Muenks Assistant Commissioner of the Office of College and Career Readiness

Richard Phillips Interim Deputy Commissioner


Ginny will be assuming the position of Director of PLCs at Heart of Missouri RPDC.
Michael is moving to Chicago to be Director of Proposals for Houghton Mifflin and
Richard is planning to give it his second shot at full-time retirement.

I know you will all join me in wishing each of these individuals the best of luck in their
new ventures.
